This system couldn't get any weirder in Freja's opinion. Why had her pack been included into this new, fancy pride of king Xerxes, without having the ability to gain good ranks? She was happy her parents had gotten roles as high guards, but nonetheless she had expected a bit more for the heirs of the two former alphas as well. It was a bitter pill to swallow, being degraded from what was considered a princess or even royalty within this pack, to something of a piece of meat sent out ahead of patrols to make sure everything was clear. That's all we are? Tools to be sent out to 'search' the area, risking our own lives? I should at least have a more honorable task! she thought furiously, her darkly coloured tail making a swoosh against the dusty ground, sending a wave of sparkling dust into the air. She got some in her eyes and nose and coughed heavily, wiping her face with her forepaws.

Once the sand finally stopped itching she opened them again she dared open them. She cursed her eyes for being watery due to this encounter. She cursed them, because it looked like she was on the verge of crying. She wasn't.

The first day in her patrol had lead to just that, however. When the patrol leader had come up to her and told her what a 'scout' was supposed to do she had flushed, inhaled as much air as possible and looked about ready to explode in tears and angry yells. Man had she complained to her family afterwards. She'd refused point-blank to do as her high guardian had told her to do, and thus had been sent back to her den with a forceful message of not coming back out nor eat before the sun rose again. As if she'd know when the sun rose within the cave.

Such punishments were strictly speaking unknown to the fae. She had not yet had a case where she hadn't had her will simply by yelling loudly enough or cursing the other soturie out. However, this time she'd found herself forced to obey. She hated it. At some point or another she had to get somewhere higher. She couldn't live the rest of her life imprisoned within the scout role, risking her life every single day without ever getting a pat on the back for a well-done job. After all, she wasn't even supposed to be included in combat! Just make sure to warn the others about it! Sniffling she tried to blink quickly, hoping that her eyes would finally stop watering.

Long ago, his sire's name would have struck fear into the hearts of many Soturies, would have had leaders and kings up in arms preparing for war. Those days.. He was heir, but he's long since fallen. Perhaps in the beginning of their stay in Xerxes' pack, Zeto and his younger siblings would have been up in arms of the treatment they were given. However as young pups battered by travel and hungry for real meat, left by their father in the care of a stranger king, they didnt have the power to demand better.

Even later as Alyosha and Esme both grew into power, Zeto was left without. There are many things the male questioned about Xerxes' reign, many things he was against, many things that he voiced against the king. The new upcoming queen also served problematic in Zeto's eyes. However, that was the least of his list of annoyances with the latest additions to the pack.

Oscora served many, but stars could only tell why Xerxes had allowed an elder leader into his pack instead sending them away. That was like begging for anarchy, begging for the elder leader to over throw the king and take the crown of the pack. Zeto could see it in the workings of the old pack members as well that the merge wasn't going to be smooth. He disliked them from the beginning. The rats complaining of low ranks, and Xerxes agreeing to raise them to avoid fights. Zeto could only snort in disgust at the kings soft rule.

All the better, when Alyosha had told him of talk going around of one of the old princesses throwing a temper tantrum of her low rank and being sent to the den like a child, Zeto lost his grumble in turn to fill the packs common rooms with his laughter. Oh how perfect! A sotu perhaps older than the king himself crying and screaming about her lowly rank as scout! After the pair of brothers laughed it off, Zeto set his sights to finding this lost princess, if only to chide her about it.

Finally they dried up. Her eyes. No more looking like she'd broken into tears. The young fae still found it endlessly painful to open her eyes and see once more, only to realize she wasn't in the home she so longed after. It made her want to pout, go to her mom and beg for them to go back home like she'd done as a pup. However, she knew only too well that this was no longer possible. Xerxes was their king for the time being, despite their dislike towards the entire situation. Freja didn't like the company of the king too much, he seemed like an overly cocky soturie - as if she could speak loudly about that.

Frustrations had been high not only in her pack's eyes. She had also noticed a growing worry among the other pack members, especially those who hadn't originated within the pack from birth. She had even seen strangers as miserable as herself, which she considered a rare treat. It was enjoyable to watch others suffer as much as her, it made her want to laugh out loud at the mere thought. It was probably cruel, but man did she find comfort in those small moments of frustration among Xerxes' own ranks. It just came to prove to her that this pack wasn't any better than her own. After all their pack had at least functioned properly, with few or no quarrels at all. One could argue that Xerxes had more soldiers to watch over, but alas Freja would not accept him as a particularly good leader when he by no means had attempted to drag them into the community or otherwise introduce them to the rest of the pack.

Unknowing that she was silently being tracked down by someone, the fae huffed and got to her paws, aiming to go for a stroll into the common-room to study and judge more peasants in hard labor. It was amusing to see them swarm around like ants in an ant hill, swiveling around like they lost something important. She turned the corner rather abruptly however, and found herself colliding into a larger sotu, her horns ramming into his chin. This was Zeto. She did not know his name, but that sure didn't keep her away from talking to him in a strict manner. "Watch where you're going, nutter!" she snapped at him. Her physical markings were a dead give-away; few would ever doubt that she was the daughter of Ru. The colour of her markings was astonishingly close to her mother's, while her light yellow eyes spilled the beans on who the father might be. Right in front of Zeto stood the lost princess, whom could not find her way within the new pack.

Grudgingly she side-stepped the larger male, whom didn't look too much older than her. If anything, she'd guess they were somewhat similar in age. She would guess she was a little older. His colours were plain, boring. Blah, what an ignorant peasant, standing in my way like that, she thought to herself as she passed him, walking into the common-room to find herself a seat by a rock, one of her many favorite spots to sit at.

Zeto was never known for being kind, or considerate, or one to enjoy being touched. All of these add up for a very precise look of annoyance on the males face as he stared down at the shorter females contempt filled growls. What a joke. The male curled his lip up to reveal his sharpened teeth as a warning.

She however, had no mind to stick around and talk, fleeing quickly down the halls from Zeto's sight. His darkened eyes, lit only by the orange in his iris' followed her escape. Two things stuck with the male as she lurked away. 1) She was new. 2) She had the audacity to snap when it was her own damned fault. A smirk grew on the males face as he stepped after her. A spoiled brat, comfortable with power, and quick to snap when it was taken. How lovely, the little princess had found him instead of the other way around, though he had expected someone more regal, older, with a hold on herself instead of one that would yip 'Nutter' in the halls.

A chuckle lifted through his jaws as he neared the females perch in the halls, her look of contempt alit on her face, twisting into smirks as Soturie went on with work.

"You" He growled as he neared her rock. "Shouldnt you be working, rather than sitting? Hate to break it to you, princess, but this isnt some beauty pagent where the girls can sit by while everyone else watches. Either you work, or you leave and die."

Perhaps that was a exaggeration, but hey! It wouldnt hurt anyone.

The male whom she'd run into didn't seem to be done with her just yet. From her position she made out the smug smile on his face, and the chuckle that rumbled in his throat. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion and discontent. These sotu weren't particularly friendly, she had learned that already. Well, Rukh wasn't much of a meanie, but she hadn't found many within the new pack that shared her views, or whom had a common interest that she could relate to. Her ears flicked back in a sign of disapproval of his approach, but he did not seem prepared to stop despite her obvious signs of wanting to be left alone.

When conversation seemed unavoidable, and when he at the same time spewed out a comment she could hardly content, she settled with a slightly straighter back, meeting his gaze determinedly to show no fear at his presence. That was one thing she'd been taught, never let your gaze flail or you'd easily be seen as easily pressured and subordinate to the other soturie. Part of her training as an heir. "Me? Work? Phah, I'm no mere peasant. Besides, my work does not lie within the walls of this cave," she replied in a steady voice, not intimidated by his rude words. "Beauty seems to be lacking in this pack anyhow. However, since you thought I was perched here to attend a pageant I'm going to assume you consider me beautiful enough to attend one. Thanks for the compliment," she retorted cheekily, smirking at him.

"Who are you to talk, anyway? You, peasant of Xerxes," she snapped, turning slightly fierce within the second. "I did not think you owned a free will, considering you follow such a lowly leader," she growled, glaring towards the royal office where the royalty resided.

His tail lashed out in annoyance at her words. Though it was one in particular that was rubbing his fur wrong: Peasant. Despite his annoyance, Zeto's face had contorted into a sickly sweet grin, orange eyes narrowing. This was indeed the female he'd been in search of.

"Ah, how could i be mistaken,ma'am" His voice dripped with sarcasm, and his laugh filled the pause between his sentences. "You are the princess of a land you let be destroyed by Felidae! Of course you can't work." he shook his head as if acting sorry for mistaking her for another. "How so ever could i forget that you couldnt even do the scouts job. Tsk. No way you could be trusted to work within the halls if you cant even do the one duty that is is deemed a necessity for scouts without throwing a fit and crying to your family."

He laughed and pull away, flicking his tail at her as he turned back. Only to look over his shoulder at her cheeky retort. He looked over her slowly before meeting her eyes again, his face matching hers with a smirk. "Either you're daft or blind, my dear. Beauty pageants would require work, and well.." He laugh again his words taunting the female. He shook his head while walking down the rocky perch she'd chosen for herself. "I suppose that means theyre not right for you then, huh?"

When he caught her last words, he raised a brow, once again twisting to make eye contact with the female. "I am Zeto. Scout of Belius and lost heir to Voltaire's throne." His smirk faltered for a second, giving a grim look at the mention of his lost title. "It would do you good to learn to play nice with the King, as he was kind enough to allow your broken pack to join, even take up high ranks. You should be happy your family is live and well, living within safety of the kings land"

The words were something Zeto had repeated to himself several times as his siblings survived within the kings pack, especially around the time the king allowed Voltaire himself to grovel at the kings feet for acceptance to the pack. Outsiders should be greatful. They can retain their own opinions of the king and the packs working, but they should still work. He looked up with annoyance at the female, her contempt was the source and example of your dislike of the new pack, and her cheeky comments were only fuel to your sarcasm and retorts.

He shrugged finally, looking away from her, flicking his tail and taking a step forward. "You could at least learn your Scouts duty though. Working with your higher ups will show them you can take more responsibility."

(xD Sass vs Sarcasm who will win?)

His voice drawling on and on really rubbed her fur the wrong way, she just couldn't stand his obvious obsession to humiliate her as much as possible. If there was one thing she wanted more than anything right now, it'd have to be to overcome the male and come out victorious. Oh how sweet victory over him would taste... "Let be? By all means did we fight over that chunk of land we had, but considering our numbers we had little to no chance to win," she said and huffed. "And please spare me of the horrid word 'princess'. I was an heir, not a princess. Not even first in line for the throne, I am more than familiar with work," she said and smirked at him when he deemed her unworthy for crying over her new task. Indeed, she was starting to enjoy this little game, tossing the ball between each other repeatedly and getting absolutely nowhere with their discussion. "Scouting is potentially the least fitted task for me. Back in my motherland, I was a fighter just like any other. If anything, you could consider me close to an 'assassin'," she said and flicked her tail, curling it around her paws.

"Do not get me wrong, I do not mind work at the slightest. Do you not wonder how I became skilled within fighting? Hours of practice are in my eyes more than enough to be counted as work. And if that is so," she made a dramatic pause to add a rather slick smirk, "I'd fit very well into a beauty pageant." She could go on for hours on end when she first got started, and to be perfectly honest this male intrigued her. At least he was interesting enough to catch her attention, and for once she had found someone worth wasting her breath on. She would defeat him, one way or another.

Another heir? She had not heard that other packs had come to join the ranks of Xerxes' pack too. Her smirk became less mocking and she gave a light nod. "Freja, scout of Xanthus and daughter of Cinna," she said, not even bringing up her rank of an ex-heir. Besides, she had never had any hope of being the absolute leader, being the second daughter in line. "Perhaps I should. Does not change the fact that I do believe Xerxes' leadership is worth less than mousedung, though," she murmured and looked at him sharply. "Have you never thought of what life would be like, if Xerxes would've helped save our packs rather than let them go to waste and then pick up the remains of them to make his loyal ants? His puny peasants? It might be much to ask of him, but as the biggest pack around I'd think even a coward would be willing to help when we're talking about the chance of destroying our biggest enemy," she concluded with a serious expression tracing her face.

At his words she paused, becoming silent for once. "Teach me, then," she said firmly, staring at the fellow scout menacingly. "Give me a reason to enjoy and cherish life as a scout, and I'll stop pestering you," she continued, sounding awfully serious all out of sudden.

((Haha, enjoying this RP more and more! Be sure to expect more sass in the near future. <: ))

He chuckled as she continued their conversation despite him showing signs of leaving. Of course.. he wasn't one to just leave a good battle of sass. He stood and grinned up at her. "Ahh so you have all this contempt for us lowly 'Peasants' despite not knowing a single one of us, or even being in a real position of power within your old pack? Honey, not being first in line means you're a spare. And rarely are the spares used." He settled back on his haunches, a smirk playing on his face. "Scouting is a good starting spot. If you only complain about that, then Xerxes is unlikely to allow you any higher. And your guardians wont trust a hair on your hide."

He snorts in amusement at her pause, once again pulling the beauty pagaent again to conversation. "Perhaps thats all you'd fit into then." He snickered. "Showing off your prissy tail because you wont behave enough to be allowed to fight in raids." He had a feeling that their round about comments would continue if they allowed it, each jumping at the chance to be snide towards the other. It was a rather amusing, and to be honest, unexpected turn of events. After Alyosha's rumor, he had sought her out to tease her, see how far he could push a newbie before she cracked in tears, or in anger. Maybe it wasnt the best way to assess the newcomers, but he couldn't care less about the tact in his actions when dealing with them.

Her sudden barrage of rhetorical questions intrigued him. Did she not know of the packs own issues? He snorted at her, as though she was trying to prove a point. "It seems you've forgotten that we dont have the numbers for most of that either. We 'loyal ants' have been dealing with a one track mind leader. He's trying to secure his rule now by finding a queen to produce heirs. As for your pack, I've heard rumor that its been broken for long. One of our own even came from a prison ran by one of your own, Erebus." He gave her little credit for her rant, her arguments were one sided, as though she thought Xerxes pack could throw down whatever theyre doing at the moment to aid a pack they didnt even know had broken.

With her final demand, he stared at her for a long moment, before bursting into laughter. "Teaching you to enjoy a rank? Riiight. I apparently cant even teach you respect." He shook his head. "You're mad, girl. But perhaps you could sweet talk your father into allowing you shadow for a day in Balius."

Freja huffed at him. "Why of course! I know perfectly well I was little more than a spare, but at least I had a position of power. Few dared oppose me, despite being nothing but a puny spare. Oh, I forgot, you haven't experienced being the spare so you wouldn't know what it's like," she sneered. "I don't know how your pack worked, but spares were important as well despite the lack of extra horns," she added soon after, annoyed with how he was constantly calling her things like 'honey'. It was really getting under her skin, and she didn't like it much. Especially not in the mocking tone he had upon saying those words. "Scouts are nothing but meat sent out to find danger that the rest of the patrol can fight. From what I've been taught scouts are supposed to remain passive during fights and thus be left out of battle almost completely. Unfair," she said, a small hint of pouting in her voice.

Those words seemed awfully hurtful for the fae, whom narrowed her eyes and growled silently. "I bet my prissy tail would whoop your right around Oscara and back again in no time. Felidae will be a walk in the park if I get my paws on you," she hissed, feeling like these words would only fuel his amusement at the entire situation.

"Shame on Xerxes for not sending his scouts to other packs then, asking for them to join his ranks before they go under or at least form alliances so we could help each other survive," she said and sighed. "Done is done, I know as much. But I can't help but not like the reign, despite their willingness to take my pack in," she finished, choosing to ignore the part where he mentioned Erebus and how her pack had been on a tilt for a while. It wasn't something worth mentioning right now, in her opinion, nor something to discuss.

His laughter stung her fairly hard. Was it really that strange for her to want training? Rather quickly she got the puppy-eyed expression and she scooted over to him with surprising speed, leaning onto him. "Oh! You would not help a damsel in distress?" she said and wailed, overacting the entire situation before settling down in front of him. "Pretty please?" she breathed, her yellow eyes shining brightly. "Cinna's too busy to take his daughter in, c'mon big boy! Or are you scared, peasant?" she said, the playfulness in her voice as well as her choice of words suggesting that she would respect him more if he accepted her request.

He ignored her hit on his status, his ears pinning back in annoyance, only to pop back up when she pouted about the scouts work. "Scouts find the danger so its not a group falling into a death trap. You're to be stealthy and ready for battle at any moment. Here you have the choice to be passive, but once you've gained the trust of your patrol mates, they allow you to fight head on with them. Or rather- Mine do."

Her little bet growling and angry, just as she had guessed, had him laughing. When he cooled enough to talk, he grinned at her and shook his head. "You? You little thing? Your prissy tail would be best to avoid those larger than you." He narrowed his eyes, it was a cheap shot.. but what wasnt in this conversation? "Did you not learn that Felidae are no joke at the fall of your pack?"

He fell silent after that, listening to her wishful thinking on the packs fall and how Xerxes could have saved it. Yeah that last comment was truely a cheap shot, he nearly felt bad for it from the wistful tone of her voice. Her gave her a small nod in agreement. She was right, many things could have been avoided if the two packs had been allies before a fall. If not for Voltaire's tyrannical ruling style, perhaps he would be sharing in her wishful thinking, but it was probably for the best that Voltaire's pack fell.

At her sudden movement, he sat up, looking at her distrustingly, especially as she leaned against him. Despite his unease of her touch, he rolled his eyes and smiled. "Oh so you are a poor princess now, hmm?" He stepped away from her, half hoping she would fall without him to lean on. At her attempt to fluff his ego, he eyed her curiously. Zeto almost wondered why she didnt just pull this trap on her higher ups. This sort of female was dangerous, one that would use tact and wit and sly cunning to get what she wanted. But... he did enjoy taking stupid risks. "Scared? Pfft. No. Stupid? Apparently." He faked a sigh and walked past her, flicking her with his tail and giving a grin. "Come on now, before someone notices our disappearance."

She rolled her eyes at him and gave him a displeased look. "Pfft, who wouldn't trust me?" she said with a hint of sarcasm tinged in her voice. She knew very well what he would think of that sentence, and gave him a look that suggested he didn't even have to answer her rhetorical question. Which was just what rhetorical questions were there for. "Lucky peasant," she murmured in a low, barely audible voice. She sniggered lightly to herself at this remark, and chuckled. "Ah, but the Felidae were many. I can handle a few on my own, but at those amounts... Nah. However, I do think I could take on you..." she said and eyed him from nose to tail, measuring him up and attempting to figure out which style she could work with when fighting him.

After a while she chuckled again, a slick smirk on her face. His reaction to her move was priceless, it almost reminded her of how she'd been back in the ol' days, slinking up on soldiers whom did not realize she was there, or whom she knew was uncomfortable when touched. Zeto reminded her of a big brute she had snuggled at every chance she had, simply to annoy and tease. The memory flashed within her mind and she couldn't help but smile weakly to herself, remembering the moment the elderly soturie had died from their pack while she was a mere teen. "Not so poor, just desperate," she said, her yellow eyes intensifying as she looked into his eyes, this time accompanied with a grin.

For a moment she thought she'd been rejected after all, considering he walked right past her. However, the playful flick of his tail as well as a grin told her he had accepted her offer. Sniggering she trotted after the fellow sotu, slowing down to a light walk next to him. "Say, are you worried about being seen with a newcomer?" she teased, finding it oddly satisfying that she had managed to manipulate him as she had. I'll have to do this more in the future. See how far I can bend him before he breaks, she thought to herself. On the way towards the entrance she picked up her leather harness and curved blade. She never left the cave without it, especially not after the Felidae's trooping into soturie territories. She had become a lot more fearful of hidden dangers, and never left her faithful blade behind. "What is your first lesson, o grand scout?" she continued, glancing at him for a moment before looking up towards the forest ahead.

He ignored her challenge, simply flicking her with his tail again as they walked. The two could more than likely make for a deadly fight, but Zeto was confident that his larger frame and muscle could take her down, especially if they fought without weapons.

Despite the playful nature, and short retort to his princess comment, it was the odd look she'd given him, the intense yellow stare, had stuck in his mind. It seemed odd that she'd almost.. Tired? Tired with a weak smile and a glare. He shook it off though, ears flicking forwards at her newest blabbering. "The only thing I'm worried about is if this becomes a normal thing." Zeto sneered back, a grin plastered on his face. "Stars only know the others will either think im getting tail or sending you to be scolded by Xerxes or Esme." He laughed at the thought. Especially if Alyosha saw the two together, the look on his brothers face would be worth whatever dent in his angry anti-newcomer reputation Freja caused.

As the left the safety of the packs ruins and entered the forest, he picked up their speed. "As it sounds like you've barely gotten your footing into the scouting, Ill show you the stands first. How well do you know the land anyways?" He replied, giving her a short, curious look noticing her newly equipped gear. The blade hanging from its sheath brought back a certain feel of unease, but he brushed it away, lengthening his strides as he lead them north. His own gear lay hidden at the top of a stand over looking the falls. From the pose one could even see the open territory that led into the desert lands.

It was rather bizarre, wasn't it? Freja, the hater of 'peasants' was now going outside the cave to train her abilities within her role with a complete stranger whom she most certainly considered a 'peasant' by all means. She couldn't help but steal a glance at the male every now and then, curiosity about this lost heir continuously nagging her. Despite his sneer, she caught a glimpse of the follow-up grin and chuckled. "Come on! I did promise I'd leave you alone after this, didn't I?" she said and smirked. "It's not like the first option is viable anyway," she added soon afterwards, rolling her eyes. She too came to think of what her pack would think of her if they saw her with one of the 'peasants', but she honestly didn't think they'd react too much. Most of them had already gotten into the pack nicely, and had adapted to the surroundings with little to no problems whatsoever. They'd probably be thrilled that she had managed to bring herself to that level where she'd talk calmly with a soturie from their new pack, considering she was one of the few that still despised the new pack.

"To be completely fair I've barely been outside the cave since I got here, other than that I've seen parts of the eastern territories," she explained and grinned. "Can't go around exploring when you're busy getting ready for beauty pageants, can you?" she said teasingly. Truth be told, she had never cared much to learn her environment, not here anyway. Back in her birthplace she'd known every inch of the territory, but here she just couldn't be bothered. It wouldn't feel the same way, and she felt strange even thinking about replacing her memories of the old forest and territories with new ones of these territories. It just seemed wrong, especially since she knew her memory on Cinna's territory would fade quickly if she started picking up new surroundings.

A butterfly fluttered right in front of her and she froze to the ground, wrinkling her nose as the small creature batted it's wings and flew past the two. "Dirty winged worms," she murmured in a barely audible voice, before she trotted after the male again to catch up. "Scouting surely can't be that difficult. All you do is jump on ahead and check for signs of Felidae and you're good to go," she said, listing up her belief of what the scouting process involved.

He meerly chuckled at her, "Oh so that was a promise? I had assumed it was just a weak bargaining chip you used to manipulate me into agreeing." He replied shortly, his eyes focused upon the landscape they were traveling in. The stunning forestry made the pair of Soturie look like ants, the ancient trees having branches so tall that it looks as though they were reaching for the sun. His skin had itched the first time he'd been out scouting, his old mentor teasing him of the heights that theyd soon be climbing. He considered including her in the joking, his orange gaze settling on Freja from the corner of his site before focusing forward. He may be showing her the ropes, but this was no mentorship.. right?

He shook his thoughts as she admitted her lack of knowledge on the territory, Zeto gave her an odd look of wonder. She.. hadnt been out here before? Only to the east.. But what of hunting? He couldnt help but to laugh at the thought. "You are such a princess." He muttered nearly inaudibly. Maybe she hadn't noticed how ingrained it was in her, but it struck him odd that she hadnt even wanted to venture out to catch her own food, or to explore. She seemed so happy to look higher than the 'peasants' she growled so much about that she apparently hadn't thought of how they were working to supply her with a food source without doing the hunting herself. Her excuse of the pagaent prep had him grinning like mad, shaking his head softly. "Oh yeah, yeah. I almost forgot how much work those took to prepare for." He nudged her with his hip, before lengthening his stride as they grew closer to the scouting stands.

He nearly missed it, Almost. But not quite, he had looked back in time, prepared to chide her for something when he caught her curling her lip at a butterfly that had flittered past her. He smirked at her frozen posture, though said nothing, storing it away for later that she was afraid of butterflies. His attention shifted back towards their destination as the butterfly moved away from the pair and she returned to normal.

At her description of the scouts job, he snorted in reply. "Are you kidding? I mean, Yeah its all those things, and it's pretty easy. But a scouts job is to prevent surprise attacks, tell when a herd of prey moves into the territory. In general, you are the packs first alert to anything going on." He looked at her as he spoke, but it gave a dreaded feel that nothing was soaking in.

"Look Maybe showing is better than telling. Come on, follow me." Zeto broke their gaze, trotting forward at a faster pace before breaking the two out into a full run. His strides were long, careful to avoid pit falls and fallen tree limbs, once settled into it, it had an easy rhythm to it. Only when the stand was in view did he slow to a stop, the tree the stand was secured to was reported to be the tallest of the forest, perfect for a sentry to see from. However, it also held problems on getting up it, namely being the fact a scout had to leap from tree limb to tree limb.

From the base of the tree, Zeto stared up at its height, the tree's limbs disappearing into the bright blinding light of the sun. Along the trees trunk, it was spotted with several platforms, including a few branches that connected down to lower trees with old gear tying small platforms to create a rope bridge. "Here we are. The north sentry stand. This one over views the water falls to the west, even parts of the desert can be seen from the top." He gave her a glance before turning and walking over to the trees base, rearing up his feet to place his fore paws against the tree. Even stretched out against the tree, the nearest sturdy limb was just at the height of his out stretched paws. "Getting up there.. Thats the real challenge."

He stepped away from the base, and gave himself room, crouching down before leaping upward. He was able to catch the branch with his forelegs, his back legs scrabbled against he limb before he was able to haul himself up, his long tail flicking every few seconds to keep his balance. From his new vantage point, he grinned down at the female, settling his haunches again the trees trunk. "So wanna try this way, or do I need to show you the easier, long way up?" He waited a second, before turning, the first leap was the hardest, after that the limbs were closer together, each providing nice stepping stones to scale higher in the tree. Of course while he waited for Freja to make her choice, he was going to stay at the lowest one, save himself the energy of the leaps.

She raised an eyebrow at the male, wondering how much he knew of her manipulative ways. Perhaps he was more experienced with this kind of business than she first had anticipated. In fact, she had thought he looked fairly dim when she'd first encountered him. However, after their little chat she wasn't all that sure any longer. "Why not both?" she said cheerily, grinning at him. As they proceeded into the new areas, Freja's eyes widened with wonder. Earlier she'd blatantly ignored the forest, stomping her way ahead of the patrol in a state of rage, kicking everything she came by to boot some of the steam forcibly kept inside her. This time she was out here on her own free will, however, and the nature suddenly looked incredibly beautiful. She paused for a moment to let another butterfly zoom by, the uncalled fear being presented once again. His laughter and the following words made her tilt her head to the side, blinking questioningly at him. "Heir. Geeze, I thought we'd established already that princess isn't part of my pack's vocabulary," she corrected him, rolling her eyes at him as she smelled a flower nearby before sneezing loudly, the pollution from the flower getting caught in her nostrils.

Being able to make him laugh pleased her immensely. It was a small victory, knowing that she'd managed to sneak underneath his skin and was now on her way to be in complete control of him. She smirked lightly to herself, content. He was correct, she never had considered the fact that others hunted for her. Then again she hadn't yet been told to hunt, nor had this been a task she was accustomed to from her previous pack. Never had she hunted prey before, but she was hardly going to admit as much. At his nudge she attempted to imitate it, but alas he had moved out of the way and without something to bump into she fell sideways on the ground with a soft whoosh and a gentle 'o-oh'. She quickly scrabbled to her paws again, cheeks flushed with embarrassment before trotting after Zeto again, whom had now picked up the speed considerably. Being smaller than him, she even had to lightly trot to keep up with his long strides.

He was completely right when he dreaded her inability to soak information. She looked completely uninterested, and even yawned. "Yeah, well, I already knew as much. Anything practical that you can teach me?" she questioned, looking at him with a light challenge in her eyes. "Yes, yes! Showing is better than telling!" she said, her voice lightening as she brightened up, following him closely despite the fact that she now had to fully trot to keep up with his pace.

Soon enough the grand tree came into view, and Freja couldn't help but be impressed. So impressed was she, that her mouth could not keep itself closed for long. In no time was she gaping at the large thing, staring at the bridges and wondering why on earth no one had taught her more about scouting before. When he then explained they had to climb the tree, her gaping expression was turned towards him. "You're not serious! We're going up there?!" she said, not even bothering to mention how she'd never ever climbed a tree in her past. Cinna's pack simply hadn't worked like that. She watched him closely as he demonstrated, gulping down a growing lump in her throat as she imagined herself copying this technique.

Easier? Hah, he's just trying to test you. This is a challenge of your strength, she thought immediately, and huffed, walking over to the place he'd leaped onto the branch from, looking up at him with narrowed, determined eyes. She stared at the spot she wanted to land intensively, hunching down to let her hind legs get enough power to shoot her up at the branch. She hesitated a moment longer, then she leaped.

It was far from an elegant jump, and the landing was -if possible - even less elegant. She landed with an 'oophf', her forepaws barely managing to grip onto the branch while her lower half was dangling helplessly below her. She'd definitely have a hard time getting that part of her up onto the branch, not to mention the motion she'd set off with the impact with the branch. Gritting her teeth she swung her body sideways, allowing one of her hind legs to get caught on the edge of the branch, letting her flip her lower half onto the branch. Panting she lay on the branch, her paws wrapped around the thing to keep herself in place. Eventually she staggered to her paws, albeit she looked extremely uncomfortable with the way the entire thing swung under her weight. Falling down wouldn't be very pleasant, and it certainly frightened the fae slightly to be this far off the ground and being expected to climb even higher. "Bring me the normal way. Going easy won't get me anywhere," she said determinedly to him. Challenges were necessary to improve skill, and if tree climbing was a part of a scout's everyday life she'd be more than happy to take on a challenge to get a head-start.

Zeto couldnt resist giving a smug smirk at her astonishment. "Yeah, all the way to the top, rookie!" From his vantage point, he could see every unsure and hesitant movement she displayed, but the final look she gave him screamed determination. When she finally looked ready to make the leap, he panicked for a moment. The branch, while sturdy enough to hold his lone weight, he wasnt sure if it could hold both of them. To fall at this height would be uncomfortable to say the least, and landing at weird angles with a branch beneath them could mean severe injury or death by impaling. He pinned his ears back, getting to his feet quickly, locating the next branch up and leaping.

He had just made it to the branch and turned in time to see her.. 'graceful' leap. While she struggled to pull herself onto the limb, he struggled not to fall off his from laughter. His great booming laughter filled the forest. As he calmed and looked over to her again, he was surprised, but perhaps not as surprised as he would have been when they first met, to see that she was on her feet already. At her insisting that he not go easy on her, he stood to his feet, stretching on the limb. "If you insist." He replied, giving Freja a smug smile, turning and bounding to the next branch. "Try to keep up though, If you dont, You may have a tough time finding the right steps." He took the next jump, before turning back to watch her. "Oh. And best not to fall, the higher we go, the more likely you'll break something. Likely your neck." While the tone was nonchalant, the words were nothing to be joked about. With each bound up the next branch, spiraling around the trees trunk higher and higher, the jumps grew closer together, but the falls grew more dangerous.

While he seemed pretty carefree with each jump, his posture told otherwise, each muscle tightening before springing, his tail constantly moving to keep his balance on each branch. He was sure to always leap close to the trunk, less he fall upon a part of the branch that was more fragile and break it. While he rested three limbs ahead of her, he watched like a hawk. If she looked to be having problems, he would likely give her hell- but without hesitation he would be down in a snap to haul her onto a branch or insure she was okay. The climb was something he had taken so many times, he'd nearly forgotten how dangerous it could be for newbies.

The laughter at her less than successful jump made her growl lightly with frustration, shooting him a furious glare. He was being a bit too free when it came to laughing of her mistakes. Her rapid movement had almost caused her to lose her balance though, and soon she resumed to staring pointblank onto the ledge she was settled on, regaining control of her balance. His warning didn't come as a surprise, she had already known that a fall from these heights would probably lead to sudden death. She frowned at him and leaped after him, landing on the spot he'd been standing on earlier. She didn't even open her mouth this time, considering all her focus was set to landing safely on each of these branches. The silence from her side was almost frightening when one took into consideration her normal amount of talking.

She quickly realized it was wise to keep to the stem of every branch, where it was naturally at it's thickest. She had more place for her footing, and she wouldn't have to be too afraid of missing the steps. After a few skips and hops she found herself actually enjoying the breeze that was gradually getting stronger the higher up they got, and the leaps were far from too challenging in her mind. She smirked happily to herself and decided to loosen up a little, making her leaps seem almost effortless.

It was quite amazing, soon enough they were many tens of meters in the air and the tree just kept on stretching for the sky! She was rather amazed, would this tree ever stop climbing? This isn't too hard, what was he talking abo- her thoughts were cut short as she leaped onto a branch covered with soft moss. What she didn't know, was that the moss was still slightly wet from earlier, the dew still soaked into it's spongy surface. Thus her paw slipped upon her next leap, leaving her with a paw too short to land safely on the branch. Letting out a gasp she wrapped her forepaws around the branch she'd been aiming for, clutching onto it tightly. She made sure to not look down, knowing that it'd only make her frightened. Breathing heavily she started hauling herself back onto the branch, only to realize that it'd be more difficult than her first jump. Unlike then she didn't have the ability to swing her body up onto the branch, and thus she was left rather helpless hanging from the branch.

Fear got a cold grip around her and she looked down in distress, seeing the branches they'd already passed as well as the ground far below them. Could she let go and grip a branch further down? It was risky, but for her it seemed like the only solution. She had completely forgotten that she had come there with Zeto, and either way she was certain he'd already jumped so far ahead he'd hardly notice what had happened before he was close to the top. Gulping she looked down, focusing on the branch a little to the left below her, preparing herself to let go.

The glare she shot him, earned a roll of the eyes and a small nod. With their back and forth roundabout teasing, there hadn't been a line to not cross, apparently though, he had just found one. With his ears listening hard for her talking as they ascended, he was amazed at her silence. He shot curious glances back at her after every successful landing. If not for the sound of her landing and breathing behind him, he would have thought he was ascending the tree alone.

As they neared the half way point, Zeto ground his teeth, the limbs here could nearly be crossed with a stride with how they were grown so horizontal, however they could perhaps be the most dangerous as well. The portions of the limbs that were closest to the tree were also covered in moss. The only thing that saved Zeto from having them turn to take the other route was the clear area further on the limb, the limb wasnt as thick there as it was next to the base, but it would have to do.

Knowing better than to look down, Zeto crossed the mossy limbs carefully, clearing the few of them before settling on a clean branch. He assessed their climb so far, looking upwards for the first platform. He was pleased to see it only three or four jumps away, nearly hidden within vines that provided cover for the scouts. He was about to turn and congratulate her of her climb, when he heard her gasp.

He spun on his paws, his body thrown off its equilibrium by the speed, with out his balance, he made a clumsy, but successful leap down a branch. "Hold on!" He ordered, catching a lower branch and spending a second to not fall. "Do Not let go of that branch!" He snapped, seeing her looking down. Oh gods what had he brought her into? He shouldnt have tested her, he thought as he leapt to the next branch, he should have showed her the long way, it was covered in the rope bound bridges and the leaps were cleared and safer. He couldnt believe his carelessness. If she fell.. He would be blamed no doubt, by everyone, by himself... Everyone knew this way was dangerous, sure he and the other scouts took it all the time though, but they'd also lived leaping the tree and knew the pathways and tricks to making it safetly. He brought a newbie up the most dangerous route he could to show off the perks of being a scout. He nearly growled at how idiotic it was. With another leap, he dared not think of the repercussions he would face if she fell. This was Cinna's daughter, the old leader probably hated listening to Xerxes, this could be a push for a rebellion.

Zeto grit his teeth as he leapt onto the branch next to the one she was struggling to hold onto. "Im going to pull you up. You have to be ready to grab onto that branch. If the branch starts creaking while I'm pulling you up, you're going to warn me, then get the hell off the branch as fast as possible to the next. To travel on mossy branches, you have to leap away from the base into the cleared spots." His tone was deathly serious, eyes scanning hers for any flash of recognition of his order. The branch was higher on the tree, meaning it was likely to be thicker than the first.. It would hopefully hold, but he'd never tested the branches on how much they could hold.

With a final steady breath, he jumped down onto her branch, instantly laying to his belly and wrapping his forepaws around the tree. Gods this was the dumbest thing he had ever done. He examined her situation quickly, reaching out and tearing at the moss with his teeth. The texture was enough to make him cringe, but atleast now she might be able to get a better grip. He stood carefully, listening for any groans or warning creaks from the branch. "Okay. Just... Careful..." He murmured almost more for himself than her as he carefully took a hold of a strap on her gear and began straining to pull her up from that.

The branch felt awfully slippery, and she could feel how her paws strained to keep herself attached to the branch. If she kept holding on she'd wear them out to such an extent she wouldn't have the ability to grab onto the branch below her, even. She'd just plummet down like a big sack of potatoes without the strength to even attempt saving herself. Gulping she was mere moments away from letting go when a voice ahead rang through the air, making her stop. By now she'd stopped the struggle of attempting to climb back onto the branch, seeing as it was more or less hopeless and she was just hanging from the branch limply. If this had been any normal situation she'd be furious at him for commanding her and bossing her around, but for these circumstances even she realized it would be better to listen to someone more experienced than her. Gulping she watched him hop onto the branch next to her, explaining the plan with a surprisingly calm tone of voice. She managed to pull off a weak nod, the strain on her paws getting close to being too much for her.

Before she knew what had happened he was there, crawling out towards her and tearing off moss to clear space for her leg. She gritted her teeth at the pain that streaked up her shoulder, her weight putting an incredibly amount of stress on her joints. The extra help with him pulling heavily at her harness made it somewhat easier for her, and soon she'd managed to get her hindlegs onto the branch again, more or less.

At this point the sound of awful strain in the tree's branch was heard however, and she noticed a crack forming close to the base of the branch. Realizing the weight of two soturies was too much for the branch, she panicked and leaped towards the closest branch, the branch giving one more groan of stress before it finally came to rest. The landing was far from perfect, and she was close to tumbling off the edge of it, but thankfully managed to tell herself to wrap her paws around the thing, ultimately saving her from flopping off it and being sent plummeting towards the ground. The entire fae was quivering with fear at this point, seemingly unable to let go of the branch for a moment longer.

When she finally regained her composure she tentatively aimed towards standing up, which she eventually did. She sought back to the base of the branch, pressing herself as close as she could to the trunk, feeling safer at the thickest parts of the branch. She then glanced over at Zeto, a moment of realization flourishing over her. "T-thank you," she managed to stutter, still shaking like a leaf and with her fur standing on end. Never before had she felt closer to death, not even the one time in which she'd been fighting a Felidae and it had almost caught her throat. "Good thing I didn't try to climb this on my own, huh..?" she managed to say, pulling off a rather shaky smile, well aware that she'd have fallen far and long if she hadn't had Zeto there at the time she slipped. Taking another moment to calm down she glanced back at Zeto and shrugged. "What are we waiting for? Top it is!" she said determinedly, leaping onto the next branch. She'd learned her lesson though, and consciously avoided the mossy areas as she continued springing up the tree, not even bothering to wait for Zeto. She'd prove to him that she wasn't a weak 'princess', no matter what had happened moments earlier. She would not be struck down.

It was like the moment she was up, the tree had had enough, a load groan from the branch alerted them to the stress fracture the branch had forming at its base. Panic took the ache from his sore joints and replaced them with adrenaline. The moment she was off the branch, he moved down a branch to avoid the one that was breaking. With both of them safe for a moment, he allowed himself to breath. "Stars... That was close.." He muttered, looking up at her.

"You okay, princess?" Despite the tense scene they'd just escaped, he sought out a laugh or annoyed look from her, anything to prove she wasn't hurt or terrified. Her stutter didn't sound very reassuring to his cause, but it was quickly followed by a lame joke and a shaky smile. He gave her one of his own in response.

He grinned at her quick recovery, she had almost fallen to her death and yet here she was, ready to go to the top. With a shake of his head, he watched her leap to the next few limbs, moving higher and higher. He himself still sat one branch lower than the broken one. With a few quick breathes, he readied himself. To clear this, he'd either have to turn around and go all the way down or move quickly. With her moving so quickly, he wasnt one to waste time. He leapt onto the broken branch, it giving a loud creeeaaak as his weight settled on it, before he sprung off. The pressure of his kick off to the next branch cause the crack to further damage the branch, it giving a final crack as the wood splintered. As he looked at it from the branch above, he realized he would have to make note of it to the other scouts. He and Freja maaayy have just ruined this route for a while, atleast until they get enough balanced Soturie to help put a rope bridge in place. Woops.

Looking back up, he grinned as she neared the first platform. "Hey!" He barked, leaping up another branch after her. "Wait up!" After a couple more leaps, the hidden platform was just ahead, however she continued leaping up the tree limb staircase. "You passed the platform!" He laughed, leaping another branch and walking through the vine cover onto the first platform.

With actual solid walking space, where he didnt have to worry about balancing or falling, Zeto could focus again on the surroundings, he peeked his head through a vine covering over the side, peering at the view. They weren't quite high enough to see over the tops of the other trees around, but from here, they could see a birds eye view of the forest ground below. He let the soft wind blow through his fur for a few more moments before pulling back into the vine covers. While he waited for her to join him on the platform, he padded around the trees trunk to revealed the platform connected itself to a rope bridge up to another tree, however, that wasn't what he had stopped for this time. Resting near the bridge was his gear, which he took little time to slide on, fastening the leathers to his sides to hold onto his blade.

Up, up, closer to the top! She was getting more eager as she flew up from branch to branch, being extra careful to check each and every branch ahead to check their condition. Whether it be for creaks or for moss; she just needed to know for sure whether it was safe to step onto or not. She'd already blocked every sound out of her mind, springing up at a surprisingly high pace for a rookie. She was getting more confident as she proceeded up the tree, skipping and jumping between the tree branches. One step to the left, jump another to the right... She was enjoying herself a little more than she should, perhaps. To be completely honest the height didn't affect her much, as long as she wasn't hanging from the edge of a branch with the knowledge that a fall would be lethal. Until then she was quite alright with the goofy way of jumping her way towards the top.

She caught his yell and grinned. "You're such a slowpoke!" she yelled over her shoulder, grinning broadly as she proceeded up the tree. Her disappointment was clear when he explained that she'd already passed their set destination. She let out a groan and skipped back down the few branches she'd hopped already, landing right behind him and entering the platform closely behind him. "Such a bore," she huffed, obviously not content with being able to proceed up the tree's intricate system of steps.

The platform was well worth the break though, and she looked completely in awe upon arriving at the seemingly flat platform, a perfect viewpoint. "This... Now this is a place I could get used to!" she said and grinned. "A small palace in the clouds..." she murmured halfly to herself, wondering why they didn't just live up here. It'd be so much easier to fend off Felidae from up here! Then again it'd be tough to keep pups off the edge, or at least she assumed that'd be an issue. The number of deaths would probably be too high to actually store an entire pack up here. Still, it was quite fascinating to see how the tree had been formed by the ancient anscestors to fit their needs. She walked over to some of the branches on the sides of the tree, inspecting a set of runes scraped into the bark of it. She wondered for a moment who had written this, and what language it was in.

She watched him put on his harness and weapon for a while, studying his weapon. It was different than most weapons she'd seen around, it was always entertaining to examine the weapons of others. It always gave her a slight idea of what fighting style the soturie might have. Her own blade was specifically made for close combat, but she was heavily reliant on having the enemy on her left in order to strike them efficiently. She thus often found herself pairing up with another soturie with a similar weapon during close combat, as they could easily protect each other's back. "What now, peasant?" she teased, raising an eyebrow playfully at him.

With his gear secured, he returned to where she stood, her head through the vines gazing down below. It was always odd sharing the platforms with another, the fact that the smallest of pushes could send the soturie falling to their deaths. He smirked at her admiration for the view, but said nothing, allowing her to enjoy the view without him chiding her on it.

While she examined everything she could, he fixed his blades in place, making sure the hilt was held in place by the two swinging attachments. If the hilt was to slide while he was jumping, the two blades would either fall or stab him, neither of which was a happy thought. He twisted this way and that, watching the double sided twist with him before giving a few verticle jumps. The hilt held strong.

Content with his gear, Zeto looked up to catch her gazing at him. A sly smile crept onto his face. "Like what you see?" He asked, raising a brow in question of her. When she deflected with her own question, he shrugged. "Well, princess," He bowed down in a faux bow, shooting her a smirk. "We are taking a break. If you get tired climbing, you get stuck." He sat down, stretching his forelegs out infront of him and walking himself down to lay on his stomach, his head settling on his paws just outside the vine covers. "This is the view that you will probably use most often. Here is where you would go to find prey, enemies, or if youre trying to locate others. To go higher, you're looking for weather, happenings in the desert, or if youre trying to see the other sentry posts without having to cross the forest." He scanned the area, spotting his sister and Ly wandering the forest. "So, Freja, tell me what you see. Any prey, Felidae, other Soturie, any oddities?"

Freja couldn't help but grin slyly at him when he questioned her opinion on the view, obviously referring to himself. "The nature is beautiful, at least," she said sneakily, sitting down and grooming out a few pieces of moss that had gotten stuck to her chest fur. Back in Cinna's pack she had been extremely cautious with her fur, always making sure every strand was combed back properly until she gained a silky smooth look. However, after arriving in Xerxes' pack she had found herself rather changed on that field. They'd pulled themselves through brambles, thorns and various bushes on their travel towards this new pack, and she had found herself quite unable to clean often enough to find herself satisfactory. Besides, she hardly cared much about what others thought of her, they were all peasants anyway. For now she groomed her fur purely to feel comfortable, which was a lot less time-consuming and nicer for everyone surrounding her as well.

She rolled his eyes when he mentioned 'princess' again, although couldn't help but feel that she had asked for it when calling him a 'peasant'. "Tired? Honestly, how long can a soturie's stamina get?" she questioned and sighed, flopping down onto the platform as well, laying down to rest. Just then did she notice how her joints still ached lightly from the climb and from her almost fatal slip. She huffed it away on the breeze though, thinking nothing of it. "I could get rather used to this view, it won't be the worst of tasks," she admitted, looking out over the forest.

When he then asked her if she saw anyone, she paused lightly when he said her name. Freja now had a rotten taste on her tongue, she didn't like it at all. She almost cringed at the thought of it. Ever since she'd figured out there was another soturie within the pack with a similar name, it just hadn't felt original enough for her any longer. Sighing she ignored the name, figuring that Zeto wouldn't be bothered with her personal feelings. "There's two other soturie down there, but they're pretty tiny. I think one of them's Ly though, the other I can't recognize," she said and squinted at the two moving spots in the forest. Ly was Haymitch's son, and the entire business regarding Haymitch's decision had been a major chatter among their tiny group. She hoped dearly that her childhood friends weren't too harshly affected by this event. Just as she was squinting down at them a single drop of water dripped onto her nose, and she glanced up. The sky was gray and grim, fairly threatening. "Say, is it a good idea to stay up here while it's raining?" she asked, remembering how slippery one of the branches had been simply because of some wet moss.

At her comment, he rolled his eyes. "What you dont think I would be allowed in the beauty pagaents?" He chuckled, allowing one of his paws to hang over the edge of the platform. As she joined him, he shifted to give her more room without their fur brushing. While she gazed over the forest, he allowed himself time to look her over, her shining yellow eyes seemed to be flickering back and forth as though they were trying to take in as much as she could. When she answered his question, he gave a nod, shifting his attention to the ground as well.

"Ly is the Head of Scouts, and the other one with him is Esme, she's the Senior Drill Sargent." He regarded the pair for a few more moments, watching them wander past the sentry post further into the forest before he flicked his ears back in annoyance pulling away from the edge. He almost made a snide comment about his sister and the Scout leader, but her comment about rain had him silent for a moment. "Probably not.." He muttered back, regarding the sky with irritation.

"Well Rookie, Looks like your tour of the North Sentry post gets to be cut short." He began walking towards the rope bridge to head towards the other platform across the trees, however paused for a moment, looking at her over his shoulder with a grin. "Since I assume you wont wait for someone to finish showing you around to come back up here... The rest of the way up is dealt with through rope bridges to avoid the large leaps and larger falls."

With that being said, he waved her towards the rope bridge. "So what we're going to have to do... Is move quickly. I think if we hurry, we can ascend to that platform across the way.." He motioned towards the tree the ropes connected. "And from there, the platform has bridges going down. They get tricky in the rain, but its better than slipping and sliding down the branches." He explained, looking to her for her opinion. "Or we could try our luck with the storm up here and hope we dont get shocked..."

She grinned at him slickly, looking content with herself. "Oh, I'm sure you'd get in! However, your results may be questionable," she teased, making a jab for his pride. If there was one thing she enjoyed it was to beat down others and forward herself in some sort of way. Sure it was sadistic and unemphatic, but that was how she worked!

"Yes, Ly originated from Cinna's pack. I know him fairly well, as we grew up together," she said and sighed again, staring at the small blurred out figure of her old friend. She couldn't help but feel sad for him. "Haven't seen Esme before. She's a peasant like you, so there's no wonder I don't know who she is," she said with a sharp smirk. Her smile faltered as he confirmed what she had feared, however. The branches would get slippery when wet, wouldn't they? She'd rather not get into the same situation twice in a single day. Soon after the soft patter of rain against the tree's leaves was heard, and Freja got to her paws at that very moment, wanting to get down with immediate effect.

He had read her mind again. She looked fairly annoyed in the beginning, seeing that she found it hard to believe that she was so open that he could read her like a book. However, it soon softened slightly and she nodded. "Definitely!" she confirmed his beliefs, walking after him towards the rope bridge. It seemed curious, having these bridges planted here. What brave souls must have risked their lives to stand up here tying these up, she thought to herself, almost in awe when thinking about it. She gave him a light nod as he explained what the path down the other side was like, satisfied that she wouldn't have to skip around like earlier. It'd definitely help her, especially since they were moving downwards. Moving down was harder for Freja, seeing the ground so far below her was frightening at a whole other level than going up to see the sky ahead.

"Let's try the bridges first. I take it you wouldn't want to spend the storm stuck in a tree with a princess, would you?" she said and smirked cheekily at him. To think she'd actually follow her promise and leave him alone after the day ended. It almost seemed surreal. Despite her dislike of his constant teasing, she couldn't help but feel that she'd at least gained an acquaintance in the stubborn, hot-headed male. You need friends to survive in this new environment, girl. Remember? she thought to herself and sighed, curious of what Zeto thought of her now, after spending a day climbing trees and keeping up with her cheesy, cliché comments.
