Esme & Garrus

Esme had become quite distant from the rest of the pack. Training Cadets had seemingly taken over her life. She took her meals with her Cadets, tended the wounds of her Cadets, and even slept in the same quarters as her Cadets. She only spoke with the Headmaster, Shaw, or with the Masters when she asked them to speak to the Cadets on the tasks of ther specilizations.

Esme had always been dedicated to her own cause - teaching those who are defenseless how to take.care of themselves, but she had never been this dedicated. It had become the topic of much discussion, was her isolation due to her distrust of Xerxes? Anyone who knew the first thing about Esme knew that to not be true. Was she heavy with the pups of some deadbeat male or vagabond or was she depressed with her failure to gain any romantic attention? Simple rumor or hidden truth?

With the Cadets weeks away from their final assesments, Esme had slowly began to reintegrate herself bback into the conjoined pack.

Ly had done as he always did; keep order and play the superior while keeping a submissive part. He had always been convincing enough to make it seem as though he were their own ideas instead of his. Being small and weaker, he had had to find other ways than brute strength. Despite his stone-facedness, he was phenomenal speaker and had helped much with the moving of the pack. He had, reluctantly, accepted the rank of Master of Scouts from Xerxes, but he also knew that with the rank he could possibly help to better his packmates' lives. That was truly his only life's goal. Never being much of a the sociable type, he tended to stick to the sidelines, stepping out and speaking up when needed. He had always been distant and thus far had chosen not to change that with the new chance at life he'd been given.

He layed quietly in the shade of an overhang, watching the world go by. His burning orange eyes blinked once, gaze seeming focused on nothing in particular.

Esme walked behind the rest of her Cadets as the left the drill hall and filed into the pack common room. Esme's attention drifted to a pair of scouts that began to gossip as she made her appearance. Esme lowered her head and raiaed her hackles, she growled softly as she passes.

Blade mentioned it was best to leave them be, but Esme was not amused. She stalked away from the group and passed an overhang.

Ly had seen the happening but chose not to interfere. It was not his place. As the female oases he could feel her irritation rolling off her in waves. While he typically would have left Esme be, tensions were high enough already. He thought it best to attempt to calm her anger. With much passiveness, he rose to his paws and followed after her. "Often times their words mean nothing ma'am." he murmured politely.

Esme slowed to a halt, she did not face the voice as it spoke. It took a moment, but after her jaws parted to offer a half-hearted laugh she faced him. She slowly turned her head, still low and with hackles raised. It appeared as if she was looking at more of an enemy than a friend.

"There is always a shred of truth in rumors and stories." She grumbled her reply.
